The play tells the story of seventeenth-century poet and playwright Cyrano, whose unsightly, enormously big nose gets in the way of winning the heart of his beloved Roxane. While he may enjoy success as a writer and a reputation as a fine and feared duellist, in a society subsumed by narcissism, Cyrano is riddled with self-doubt. James McAvoy stars in Martin Crimp’s re-imagining of Edmond Rostand’s classic play. Directed by Jamie Lloyd and filmed live from the Playhouse Theatre in London’s West End.
