Met Opera Live: Der Fliegende Hollander (2020)
The award-winning Sir Bryn Terfel CBE returns to the Met for the first time since 2012 as the mysterious seafarer searching for salvation. Condemned to sail the seas for eternity on his ghostly ship, the Captain is offered a chance of redemption by true love. François Girard, whose mesmerising staging of Parsifal recently wowed Met audiences, directs Wagner’s eerie early masterwork in this co-production with Puccini L’Opéra de Québec and Amsterdam’s Dutch National Opera.
