Established in 2012, Shoryu Ramen specialises in Hakata tonkotsu ramen from the Hakata district of Fukuoka city on the southern island of Kyushu, Japan. Hakata tonkotsu ramen is a style of ramen made with a thick, rich, white pork soup and thin, straight ramen noodles.
Shoryu ramen bosses hail from the energised 24-hour city of Hakata, Fukuoka which also happens to be the birthplace of the tonkotsu ramen we all know and love. Being brought up on the stuff, Hakata native turned Londoner, Tak Tokumine and Executive Chef Kanji Furukawa know the ins and outs of what makes a good and tasty bowl.
Since 2012, Shoryu has been selling high quality, authentic tonkotsu ramen noodles and delicious street food sides alongside premium Japanese spirits, seasonal sake cocktails and ice cold beers and in a decade they have expanded across London, Oxford and Manchester - they even have DIY ramen kits so you can make you're own Shoryu at home!
