ACCESSIBILITY AT FULHAM ROAD

To book wheelchair spaces or carer tickets by phone, or for all other accessibility enquiries, please call our dedicated accessibility hotline 020 7294 7908.

Advanced Booking

Advance booking is always a good idea so that our staff can readily provide assistance if required. Accompanying carers are eligible for a free ticket. We will be pleased to reserve wheelchair spaces or seats in any particular part of the auditorium if this is helpful.

Physical Access around the cinema

The Foyer, Kiosk, Box Office, Screens 4 and 5 and accessible toilet are all located on the ground floor. A Radar key is not required to enter the accessible toilet. The ground floor is accessible to customers with limited mobility including wheelchair users, there is one step to access the ground floor via the main foyer entrance and a ramp can be installed for access. The Café is accessible via a platform lift or ascending 8 steps from the side entrance. Screen 6 can be accessed by descending 14 steps.

Fulham Road Picturehouse is homed in a listed building. Due to its historic nature, we are not allowed to make changes that would affect the building's character, this regrettably includes installing a lift. This ensures that the building is protected as a crucial part of England's heritage.

The first floor can only be accessed by ascending a staircase of 18 steps. From the first floor access to Screen 1 involves a further staircase of 14 steps ascending and 8 steps descending. Access to screen 2 involves ascending a further 5 steps and from there screen 3 can be accessed by descending a further 12 steps. If you have any questions, you can contact our dedicated accessibility hotline on 020 7294 7908.

Physical Access in our screens

Screens 4 and 5 are accessible to wheelchair users as they are on the ground floor. Due to the nature of the building, we regret that there is currently no wheelchair access to screens 1, 2, 3 and 6. Screen 4 and 5 both have spaces for two wheelchairs, these spaces are located at the back of the auditoriums.

Blue Badge Parking

As we are in a residential area, we have no parking facilities. There are pay and display parking bays on Beaufort Street adjacent to the cinema where Blue-Badge holders are permitted to park.

Audio Description

Audio description (AD) is a narrated soundtrack where the action, scene changes and the actors' body language is described with people with sight loss. This additional soundtrack is broadcast through wireless headsets so only the wearer can hear it, and fits within the silent gaps in the film so it doesn't interfere with the dialogue. Headsets are available to borrow at the box office. Customers are advised to ask a member of staff for a headset on arrival and should be handed back to a customer after the screening. AD is available in all screens for every film where an AD track has been created. To find out if a performance is available with AD, please check the film listings on our website where they are clearly identified, ask a member of staff at the cinema, or contact the Accessibility Helpline.

Large Print Requests

Large print versions of our film schedules are available on request from a member of staff.

Navigation around the building

There is signage throughout the building indicating the location of floors, screens and cafés.

Subtitled (Captioned) Screenings

We offer subtitled screenings, which provide a transcription of the audio from a film, displayed at the bottom of the screen. Along with the dialogue from the film, the subtitles include non-dialogue audio such as "(sighs)" or "(door creaks)" to ensure people who are deaf or hard of hearing can enjoy the full film plot. These screenings may also benefit those with English as a second language. We aim to have subtitled screenings on Sunday and Monday, there may be times we have more screening programmed depending on content. Customers are advised to check the website or ask a member of staff for more details.

Guide Dogs

Guide dogs are welcome at Fulham Road. If you wish to take a dog into a performance, please let us know when booking so we can arrange an aisle seat. Alternatively, your dog can be cared for by a member of staff for the duration of the performance. We will be happy to provide drinking water for your dog.
