The Great Big Green Week in cinemas

The Great Big Green Week is the UK's biggest ever celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature.

To coincide with the Great Big Green Week, we bring you a special screening of The Ants And The Grasshopper at Regal, Henley, presented in collaboration with the Regal Picturehouse, Greener Henley, & Picturehouse Green Screen.

This screening will take place on Sunday 2 October at 14.30 and will include a special recorded Q&A with the director.

Following the screening, there will an area in our cafe for conversation to continue around the subject and ideas brought up by the film, moderated by members of Greener Henley and Picturehouse Green Screen.

Greener Henley tackles the climate and ecological crisis using education, action & collaboration. Greener Henley is a volunteer-run organisation. Local people, from different backgrounds, all with a common aim: to work together to help build a greener, zero carbon future for Henley and our villages

The Ants And The Grasshopper will also be screened at select cinemas.

Anita Chitaya has a gift; she can help bring abundant food from dead soil, she can make men fight for gender equality, and she can end child hunger in her village.

Now, to save her home from extreme weather, she faces her greatest challenge: persuading Americans that climate change is real.

Travelling from Malawi to California to the White House, she meets climate sceptics and despairing farmers. Her journey takes her across all the divisions shaping the US, from the rural-urban divide to schisms of race, class, and gender, to the thinking that allows Americans to believe they live on a different planet from everyone else.

It will take all her skill and experience to help Americans recognize, and free themselves from, a logic that is already destroying the Earth.

The Great Big Green Week is the UK's biggest ever celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature.

Between 24 September and 2 October this year, Great Big Green Week will unleash a wave of support for action to protect the planet.

Tens of thousands of people in every corner of the country will celebrate the heartfelt, brave, everyday actions being taken to stand up for nature and fight climate change.

The Great Big Green Week takes place between Sat 24 Sep and Sun 2 Oct. The Ant And The Grasshopper will be playing at select cinemas — Book Now
