Celebrate the 116th birthday of our historic cinema with a very special screening of the groundbreaking bona fide titan of cinema, King Kong, showing on glorious 35mm for the finale of this year’s Duke’s Days film season.
Before the monster movie colossus, we’ll be unveiling the Duke of York’s Time Capsule: a letter to the future containing letters, photographs, cinema souvenirs, and memories, contributed by the cinema team and public to be hidden away and unearthed in 116 years’ time.
We’re delighted to be joined on the night by the Cinema Museum, in support of their quest to secure their future and buy the historic, Grade II-listed building that houses their amazing collection. We’ll be hosting a fundraising raffle with prizes to be won, as well as other birthday surprises.
