For years now, genius filmmakers (and husband-and-wife duo!) David Lowery and Augustine Frizzell have been movie marathon aficionados across the pond. But now they're setting sail for the moonlit waters of Picturehouse Central and joining us in person to warmly welcome you to a night of cinema magic.
“There are few things Augustine and I love more than movie marathons. We love attending them, and we love programming them (the highlight of our year is the 24-hour Halloween Horrorthon that we throw for our friends in October), so when the possibility of curating a Picturehouse Marathon was presented, we leapt at it,” David tells us. “The lineup we've put together contains one film I haven't seen, one film Augustine hasn't seen, as well as a selection of titles that have endured and become beloved in our household. Some of them we know by heart; others we haven't seen in decades.”
This spellbinding selection offers delight and darkness in equal measure: cross paths with arty vampires and star-crossed teens, be dazzled by dead ringers and strange obsessions, and sink into one superbly sumptuous mystery movie, all pulled from the minds and hearts of our brilliant hosts. Ready to be spellbound? “All of them deserve to be viewed on the biggest screen possible,” our host tells us (he’s right), “and with that in mind, we hope you'll join us for a night of cozy cinematic madness.”
The World's Biggest All Nighter is our all-night takeover of Picturehouse Central: seven screens, seven themes, nothing but cinema. Tickets to any of our All Nighter screens includes free tea and filter coffee all night, plus giveaways and surprises throughout! Each screen’s hosts will introduce each film, and there will be a 15-minute break between films. Please note that due to licensing requirements, All Nighter attendees must be 18 or over.
