Tashi Duncan (Zendaya) is a superstar tennis prodigy-turned-coach, who uses her inimitable skills on the course to transform her husband Art (Mike Faist) from a mediocre player into a champion. But when he finds himself on a losing streak, Tashi enters him into a low-stakes ‘challengers’ event to get his head back in the game, where he finds himself across the net from the burnt-out Patrick (Josh O’Connor) – his former best friend, and Tashi's former boyfriend.
