BioSynthesis is the brainchild of audio-visual artists Marian Saunders and Cat Jones who share a curiosity about the interconnections between art, nature, science, and technology. For their unique event at Cinema City, they will collaborate with musician Bob Percy to present a live audio-visual performance exploring the synergy between organic biosonic sound and live projections.
The artists will take an improvised, experimental approach in creating abstract interactions between sound and image. Electronic plant signals establish the interplay of cosmic imagery and sound which interpret the patterns, rhythms, and shapes within nature. Echoing metamorphosis in the environment, the performance will transform and evolve unpredictably over time.
A hybrid of analogue and digital media forms the basis for audio and visual elements which draw out the contrasts between nature and technology, macro and micro, sound and image.
