This page explains the current facilities for people with disabilities and is intended to assist you in planning your visit.
Advance booking is always a good idea so that our staff can readily provide assistance if required. Telephone booking is available seven days a week from 9.30am to 8.30pm.We will be pleased to reserve seats in any particular part of the auditorium whenever possible, if you contact us in advance.
Customer with Limited Mobility
The auditorium is accessible from street level. We regret that within the confines of this historic cinema there is no space to provide an adapted toilet for the use of customers using wheelchairs. Customers are advised to use facilities nearby at McDonald’s (opposite the cinema.). There is no parking at the cinema. The nearest disabled parking spaces are at the end of Hill Gate Street (turn next left after the cinema).
Visually Impaired Customers
Guide dogs are welcome. If you wish to take your dog into a performance, please let us know when booking so that we can arrange an aisle seat. Alternatively your dog can be cared for by a member of staff for the duration of the performance. We will be happy to provide drinking water for your dog. We will provide large print film schedules on request.
Deaf / Hard of Hearing Customers
Foreign-language films are screened with English subtitles and these are clearly indicated in the programme.
Bookings and General Enquiries
Wheelchair spaces and Carers tickets are bookable online. (For Carers Tickets please see Carers section). Alternatively to book wheelchair spaces or carer tickets by phone, or for all other accessibility enquires, please call our dedicated accessibility hotline 02072 947908 (Text Relay call 18001 02072 947908).
Customers who have a disability that means that they need a companion with them in the cinema can bring them to any Picturehouse Cinema for free.
You can sign up for a Carers Card which will automatically discount one of your tickets, and which you can use – without a booking fee – when buying tickets in person, online or by telephone. The card will also mean that you don’t have to explain your situation every time you visit the cinema.
Ticket prices for customers with disabilities are according to their circumstances (e.g. adult, Member or student); the free ticket applies to their companion. The card must be used in conjunction with a paid-for ticket or a Member’s free ticket.
All customers for 3D screenings – including those using free tickets – will need to buy a pair of 3D glasses. These can be reused if you keep them.
Signing up for a card is not required, but we hope it will make buying tickets easier. It is personal to you, and may not be used by other people.
To apply for an annual Carers Card, visit any of our cinemas, call us on 0871 902 5731, or email email@example.com
We believe that film and cinema have an increasingly important role to play within the National Curriculum, aiding pupils’ learning and development throughout their formal education.
Our London-based education team work closely with teachers and Local Education Authorities to deliver a diverse year-round programme of screenings, talks and workshops, all carefully designed to complement the National Curriculum at different levels and develop young people’s cine-literacy skills.
Our education department, working on behalf of Picturehouse venues in Brixton, Clapham, Greenwich, Hackney, Notting Hill and Stratford, currently offers the following screenings and events for Primary, Secondary and post-16 pupils.
To join our schools mailing list email the Picturehouse Education team specifying Primary, Secondary or Post-16 and the borough within which your school is situated:
