This page explains the facilities for people with disabilities, and is intended to assist you in planning your visit.
Advance booking is always a good idea so that our staff can readily provide any assistance you require. Accompanying carers are eligible for a free ticket. We will happily reserve wheelchair spaces or seats in any particular part of the auditorium if this is helpful.
Customers with Limited Mobility
Screens 1 and 2 are accessible to customers with limited mobility, including wheelchair users. There are four wheelchair spaces in Screen 1 and two in Screen 2. Unfortunately Screen 3 is not accessible to wheelchair users, as entry is up a small number of steep steps.
There are steps up from the foyer into the bar inside the building. There is level access to the bar from the street through the Lochrin Place entrance.
Visually Impaired Customers
Guide dogs are welcome at The Cameo. If you wish to take a dog into a performance, please let us know when booking so we can arrange an aisle seat. Alternatively, your dog can be cared for by a member of staff for the duration of the performance.
Customers with Impaired Hearing
Certain performances carry subtitles, and these are clearly indicated in the programme. All three screens are fitted with the Williams Sound hearing assistance headset system; please notify a member of staff if you wish to use a headset.
There is a fully accessible separate toilet for wheelchair users opposite the doors to Screen 1. There is an emergency call-point (the red hanging cord) inside should you need to summon assistance.
Bookings and General Enquiries
Wheelchair spaces and Carers tickets are bookable online. (For Carers Tickets please see Carers section). Alternatively to book wheelchair spaces or carer tickets by phone, or for all other accessibility enquires, please call our dedicated accessibility hotline 02072 947908 (Text Relay call 18001 02072 947908).
Customers who have a disability that means that they need a companion with them in the cinema can bring them to any Picturehouse Cinema for free.
You can sign up for a Carers Card which will automatically discount one of your tickets, and which you can use – without a booking fee – when buying tickets in person, online or by telephone. The card will also mean that you don’t have to explain your situation every time you visit the cinema.
Ticket prices for customers with disabilities are according to their circumstances (e.g. adult, Member or student); the free ticket applies to their companion. The card must be used in conjunction with a paid-for ticket or a Member’s free ticket.
All customers for 3D screenings – including those using free tickets – will need to buy a pair of 3D glasses. These can be reused if you keep them.
Signing up for a card is not required, but we hope it will make buying tickets easier. It is personal to you, and may not be used by other people.
To apply for an annual Carers Card, visit any of our cinemas, call us on 0871 902 5747, or email email@example.com
The Cameo cinema bar provides a calm, welcoming environment to discuss film, have a quiet read or make use of our free Wi-Fi. We offer great coffee and a chilled-out atmosphere. Children and babies are welcome until 8.00, with high chairs and a toy box for your use. We also allow dogs!
Our quality snack food is sourced from local businesses including Breadwinner, Lo Spuntino and Union of Genius, and our dips are made in-house. A bevy of soup, quiches, pizza slices and strombolis are served until 10.00pm, alongside a range of top-notch biscuits and cakes.
We are always adapting and updating our carefully selected range of Scottish and international beers and lagers, fine spirits, and 18 different still and sparkling wines. Recent additions include Pickering’s Gin, made just a mile away at the Summerhall Distillery, and draught beers provided by Williams Brothers.
We have a regular film quiz (usually on the third Tuesday of the month), and many groups and clubs host events in the bar. So if you’re after a social outing or just a good coffee on your own, we’ve got you covered!
