I'm using lockdown to revisit a lot of favourite films. I'm finding I'm really drawn to stories about intimate human relationships, a sense of touch and hope. Next on my list is my own private Merchant Ivory retrospective with Maurice, Howard's End and A Room With A View.
I've been doing a lot of dancing in my kitchen to Jessie J, Little Mix and Girl's Aloud.
One of my favourite cinemas is Hyde Park Picture House in Leeds. My favourite memory is a retrospective screening of Working Girl holding hands with my ex-boyfriend.
I hope you like it.
We are excited to announce that we are planning to reopen Picturehouse Cinemas from 31 July 2020.
We talk to lead actors Daniel Kaluuya and Jodie Taylor-Smith plus Grammy-winning director, Melina Matsoukas and Emmy award-winning writer, Lena Waithe.
It has become one of the most widely celebrated in Brando's acting career and one that is arguably more subtle and sensitive than his memorable "I could have been a contender" monologue.
The results are in! We asked Picturehouse Members to reflect on the last decade of fantastic films. From this, we've compiled a list of the 5 best films of the decade and of 2019.
It's that time of year again – time to take a look back at a year's worth of UK theatrical releases and find out our favourites at Picturehouse.
