Following a preview screening of the critically acclaimed film, the event will see the likes of celebrated musicians and performers take to the stage to cover Faithfull’s songs, including Jarvis Cocker, Beth Orton, Anna Calvi and Rufus Wainwright. The award-winning actor Samantha Morton will read a poem from Marianne Faithfull’s album ‘She Walks In Beauty’.

The exceptional line-up of singers will be backed by the film’s house band led by MD Rob Ellis (PJ Harvey) and featuring Ed Harcourt, Adrian Utley (Portishead), Colin Greenwood (Radiohead) and Anna Phoebe.  

From Iain Forsyth & Jane Pollard — the BAFTA nominated directors of the Sundance award winning 20,000 Days on Earth — comes Broken English, a bold documentary portrait of the inimitable singer, songwriter and icon: Marianne Faithfull.

 A survivor, provocateur, and true original, Marianne has spent more than six decadesdefying expectations — releasing over 35 albums while constantly reinventing herself.  

Made with her full involvement, Broken English is an intimate and unflinching exploration of a fractured yet unbreakable life shaped by fame, creativity and relentless public scrutiny. 

The film unfolds within The Ministry of Not Forgetting — an imagined, cinematic institution where memory and mythology collide. Featuring a cast led by Tilda Swinton and George MacKay, with powerful, intimate performances from friends andcollaborators including Nick Cave & Warren Ellis, Courtney Love and Suki Waterhouse.
