Ben Wheatley returns to the screen with a genre-defying feature that looks set to become a cult classic. Freelance journalist Corey (played by Control’s Sam Riley) has been poisoned and forced to goon a time-travelling mission to find the person who may have a cure.
He’s plunged into anightmarish world of clones, explosions, and experiments as he tries to make sense of the shifting universes he encounters. Bulk is a playful mash-up of filmmaking techniques including stop-motion animation and model making. It was partly shot on set at MET Film School Brighton with students taking crewroles alongside industry professionals. Wheatley’s work includes High-Rise, A Field In England, Kill List and Down Terrace. Screening introduced by director Ben Wheatley and producer Andy Starke.
