Brixton Chamber Orchestra presents Vampyr live

To mark the 90th anniversary of Dreyer's VAMPYR, a black and white silent film that paved the way for the horror genre, Brixton Chamber Orchestra's 15-piece orchestra will provide a live soundtrack of original composition and improvisation for a one of a kind performance.

A traveller obsessed with the supernatural arrives at a countryside inn – and finds the family that lives there pulling him into a mystery that crosses between the realms of the living and the dead. One of cinema’s great nightmares, Carl Theodor Dreyer’s Vampyr lingers 90 years on through a combination of chilling imagery, ominous sound and stunning filmmaking technique.

Hot off the heels of performances at Glastonbury Festival, Lambeth Country Show and their much lauded Summer Estates Tour of Lambeth housing estates, Brixton Chamber Orchestra bring their creative uniqueness to the Ritzy Cinema for a special Halloween experience.
