In May 1968, as the student riots in Paris, three youths met at the French cinematheque: the U.S. exchange student Matthew (played by Michael Pitt), and the French twin brothers Théo (Louis Garrel) and Isabelle (Eva Green). They discover politics, cinema, culture and they experiment with intimacy and sex, creating an alternative reality. Or so they believe.
