DIRECTOR: Chu Chun-Teng. WITH: Devin Pan, Misi Ke.
A film of breathtaking beauty. On the outskirts of Taipei lies Shezi Island, an isolated sandbar formed by two rivers.
Inspired by this location—described by the director as "a liminal space, floating between opposites: city and countryside, land and sea, existence and oblivion"—the film weaves an elusive and compelling tale of a mysterious woman and a lost man.
He has returned to his hometown, feeling caught between a past he cannot grasp and an intangible future. Their paths intertwine, unravelling mysteries of longing, belonging, and transformation.
The Cambridge Film Festival is presented by the Cambridge Film Trust, a registered charity with a mission to foster film culture and education for the benefit of the public, in Cambridge, the Eastern region, and throughout the UK.
