Join director Matt Harlock for this special microbudget filmmaking workshop, followed by a screening of his darkly comic thriller/horror Blockhead (“mesmerising - wonderful to watch” The Hollywood News).
Matt will take you behind the scenes of how BLOCKHEAD was shot in just 14 days - from raising the money and casting, through scheduling and shooting, to festivals, distribution and all the tips, tricks and hard-earned lessons along the way. Matt has previously presented masterclasses at SXSW, BAFTA, Film London and Sheffield DocFest.
Blockhead follows Will, a struggling novelist who gets an unexpected visit from his mysterious muse. As inspiration turns to obsession, chaos and murder ensue… but his new novel might just be genius. Starring Joe Sims (Broadchurch, Doctor Who) and Danny Horn (Sunny Afternoon), Blockhead has screened at FrightFest, Encounters, LIFF & Unrestricted View FF.
