Set in 1940s Canton, a hapless, small-time con artist named Sing attempts to scam the residents of Pigsty Alley—a run-down slum too impoverished for the local mafia to care about.
His bumbling extortion attempt accidentally triggers a massive turf war between the ruthless, tuxedo-wearing Axe Gang and the slum's eccentric, low-income tenants.
Unbeknownst to the gangsters, this decaying housing complex is actually populated by legendary, retired kung fu masters living in hiding.
As the violence escalates, Sing is caught in the crossfire of an explosive battle that forces him to discover his own destiny.
