We invite you to a very special double bill. A screening of David Lean’s enduring love story Brief Encounter followed by the premiere screening of the real life story that lies behind the iconic film. Briefest Encounters - An Untold Love Story - uncovers the hidden past of actor Cyril Raymond, who played the cuckolded husband in the film. In an uncanny twist of fate, Cyril himself experienced a ‘brief encounter’ with fellow actor Janet Morrison during a transatlantic stage production which resulted in a child being born out of wedlock. This film is about more than one lost love - it’s about three intertwined lives, missed chances and the emotional cost of convention. After the screenings there will be a Q&A with the filmmakers Joanna Crosse and Luke Taylor from Meaningful Films
