Sun 19 Jul | Line-up: Nicola Mantalios, Aaron Simmonds, Lauren Pattison, MC: Aaron Wood

Lauren Pattison: Edinburgh Best Newcomer Nominee 2017 and Edinburgh Best Show Nominee 2022, Lauren is a comedian, actor and writer. Her TV appearances include Stand up for Live Comedy (BBC), two episodes of Comedy Central at the Comedy Store, Roast Battle, and she even hosted an episode of Takeshi’s Castle (Comedy Central). She can currently be heard hosting the critically acclaimed weekly podcast Conversations Against Living Miserably, produced by Dave in partnership with the Campaign Against Living Miserably. Now in its second series, the podcast has had guests including Richard Gadd, Jenny Eclair, Lou Sanders, Dane Baptiste and Stu Goldsmith. Lauren is a regular at all the major national comedy clubs and has provided tour support for Katherine Ryan, Jason Manford, Kerry Godliman, and Stewart Francis.

Aaron Simmonds: Aaron Simmonds has been failing to stand up for 36 years; luckily he is far better at comedy than standing up. Aaron has appeared on QI (BBC Two), Stand Up Sketch Show (ITV), Russell Howard Hour (Sky), Undeniable (Comedy Central) and Guessable (Comedy Central) and has been heard on BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio Scotland. Aaron offers sharply-observed comedy which is grounded in his disability, but is by no means limited by it.

Nicola Mantalios: A beloved fixture of the comedy circuit, Nicola is the winner of the prestigious 2025 Funny Women competition and a So You Think You’re Funny finalist. She is widely celebrated for her breakout character "Zoe"—a socially obtuse, fleece-wearing dog lover who took the 2022 BBC Comedy Festival by storm, securing two BBC development funds and backing from North East Screen to develop the character further. A dynamic live performer, Nicola has provided tour support for major comedy stars including Josie Long and Ellie Taylor. Based in the North East, she is a regular MC at The Newcastle Stand and the founder and host of Queers and Beers, Newcastle’s premier queer comedy night.

Aaron Wood: Aaron Wood is one of the UK’s most exciting new comics, having racked up three sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe, a successful UK tour and the release of his debut stand up special This Can’t Be It on YouTube. He’s supported the likes of Luke Kidgell, Tom Stade and Fin Taylor, and his stand-up and podcast clips have picked up over 100 million views online, earning him a spot on Rolling Stone’s list of “Rising Stars to See”.
