Hipish Vintage presents Donnie Darko: The Director's Cut

Donnie Darko - The Directors Cut - Featuring a Post Discussion of the films Cult Status & Soundtrack ‘Hipish’ Screen Club is an extension of East London Vintage clothing company ‘Hipish Vintage’. Our screening events are all about bringing our customers & the Hackney Community together for some great cinema and conversation. We have picked films of past & present that we believe must be viewed in the cinema where we can sit back and switch off together. Every film will be followed by a discussion about topics of the film featuring some experts in their field. We also invite everyone to join us for some drinks in the bar pre-screening & will be doing some giveaways. We cannot wait for you to join us.

Our first selection is ‘Donnie Darko: The Directors Cut’. Amazingly ‘Donnie Darko’ turns 25 this year, and still remains my favourite film of all time. A cult favourite where it’s story and topics ring so true to today. Launching the career of Jake Gyllenhaal and featuring an all star cast, never has a film reflected the ups and downs, and beauty of life itself. The films score and soundtrack had as much cultural impact as the film itself. We will discuss the films music and cult status in a discussion post film with a few experts in this field.
