Oscar-winner Brendan Fraser plays an unsuccessful actor who takes on a series of surprising roles in an uplifting comedy drama.

Philip is drifting through life in modern-day Tokyo, his acting work confined to embarrassing TV commercials. He’s persuaded to join a rental family service, filling gaps in his clients’ lives by becoming whoever they need him to be - a groom, journalist or previously absent father. But as Philip makes emotional connections with the people he encounters, it becomes harder to maintain the boundaries between reality and the personas he has created. In his first leading role since Academy Award-winner The Whale, Fraser gives an engaging and thoughtful performance alongside a strong supporting cast.
