This powerful docu-drama re-enacts the hours leading up to the murder of a six-year-old girl during the Gaza conflict.
Hind Rajab is travelling with relatives in a car which comes under fire from Israeli troops. The family make a desperate call to Palestinian emergency medical services, but moments later, only Hind is left on the line. She is the sole survivor in the vehicle and pleads with the responders to help her. As attempts are made to put together a rescue plan, efforts are hampered by complex procedures with devastating consequences. The film depicts these real-life events using actual phone recordings, together with scripted scenes based on transcripts and personal testimonies. It was the Grand Jury prize-winner at this year’s Venice Film Festival.
