Join curator and host Tomisin Adepeju for the launch of DAILIESCLASSICS, an expansive programme that seeks to indepthly ruminate on the profound power of cult classics, underseen gems and some of the groundbreaking films that have shaped the current cinematic landscape.
John Berry’s exceptional HE RAN ALL THE WAY screens as part of the NOIR FICTION series. The film stars the indomitable John Garfield in his final role as a petty thief who takes a young smitten girl (Shelley Winters) and her family hostage after a heist goes wrong. Shot by James Howe Wong, a master of noir cinematography, this gritty New York set tale is an illuminating exploration of moral ambiguity, urban decay and how society has failed its young men; in body, mind and spirit.
The latest short film from BAFTA long-listed filmmaker, Liam White will be accompanying this work. Housewarming (2024) follows Saskia who has just moved into her first house, but the dream is tainted by an unexpected arrival. The film was nominated for a BIFA and won Best UK Short at Raindance Film Festival 2024.
There will be a post screening discussion with Tomisin and film-maker Naqqash Khalid.
