Become a memberJoin Blossom LGBT for a special screening of Brokeback Mountain, followed by an open and heartfelt Q&A exploring how queer people survive, adapt, and resist. Together, we’ll unpack the emotional weight of the story — from heartbreak and repression to strength and endurance. Does this film leave us with a sense of hopelessness, or show how people grow through pain? We’ll also look at how the world has (and hasn’t) changed since the era the film is set in. What did it mean to be queer in rural spaces in the 1960s–1980s? How do those experiences resonate with today’s legal battles and cultural conversations? Are there echoes between past silences and modern-day struggles? This event offers space to feel, reflect, and connect — whether you’re processing personal emotions or considering how queer resilience has evolved. Brokeback Mountain, directed by Ang Lee and starring Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal, is being re-released to mark its 20th anniversary. It remains a landmark film for the LGBTQ+ community.
