Join Emily Cockayne, who served as an expert consultant on the film, for a special post-screening Q&A where ‘the weird stuff’ that developed in ‘a neighbourhood that’s gone awry’ can be explored in further detail. Dr Cockayne, Associate Professor of Early Modern History at UEA, first broke the story of the Littlehampton libels in Cheek by Jowl a book about neighbours, published in 2012 after discovering a newspaper article about ‘indescribably filthy’ letters sent to neighbours in the 1920s. Emily has since developed the story into a chapter in her latest book, Penning Poison, and the story has, in turn, inspired the film Wicked Little Letters.
