In the mid-60s, Jackson C. Frank released a masterpiece of folk music in Britain, produced by his fellow American expat Paul Simon. Jackson was close to Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel and has been a musical influence for so many, like Bert Jansch or Nick Drake.

However, after the release of his unique album, he disappeared without leaving a trace.

With physical disabilities and a trauma as a result of a childhood tragedy, his mental health brought him to his inner suffering.

While he was still missing, his musical influence kept increasing over the years.

That’s when a young music fan decided to look for him.

What he discovered was an unrecognisable man, physically and mentally, deeply marked by a tragic existence.

Still today, musicians like John Mayer and Laura Marling play Blues Run the Game.

His timeless songs illustrate films like Joker with Joaquin Phoenix as well as The Old Man and the Gun with Robert Redford.

This documentary follows Jackson C. Frank's footsteps to unknot the threads of a dire fate.

Who was Jackson C. Frank?

Who remembers him?

Where to find meaning, or even light, in a life as dark as his?
