Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) grew up happily with her mother Donna (Meryl Streep) on an idyllic, colourful Greek island. But Sophie doesn’t know who her dad is – and now that she’s a bride-to-be, is set on finding the answer.
She secretly invites three of her mother’s long-lost loves back to the island for her wedding so she can decipher which of them is her father – all the while Donna and her two best friends/former back-up singers try to avoid becoming even more entangled with them.
