31-year-old Mitsuko has not had a lover for many years and has gotten used to living alone in Tokyo. There was a reason why she was able to live happily and peacefully. She cooks for herself, she dines alone, goes to a Japanese spa alone, visits her friend in Italy alone. In her brain, there is another self, the adviser "A", who always gives the right answer when she is confused about her relationships or how to behave.

One day, Mitsuko falls in love with a client, a young salesman named TADA. Mitsuko decides to take a step forward with a support of her inner “A” although she isn’t as courageous as she used to be...

Based on a novel by WATAYA Risa, this drama mirrors the life of an ever-growing singleton community in Tokyo and their “solo life”, and aroused great sympathy in viewers inside and outside Japan. Rather than staring seriously at the loneliness that everyone faces in a modern society, this award-winning film is fun and has a light touch.
