Using the example from her own family of famous chefs, Sílvia Subirós reflects on patriarchal society and the pernicious influence of Franco's dictatorship in women's rights. Subirós combines old 8mm filmed family footage with other family objects and memories to reflect on family relationships, Catalan gastronomy and the unfairness of patriarchal societies, which render women invisible. The director's detailed and moving examination of the filmed snippets of the grandparents she never met are a true example of the power of cinema.
