Director Talek Saleh takes us on a riveting journey in his latest thriller set in Cairo. From a rural village, fisherman’s son Adam (Tawfeek Barhom) is invited to study at the prestigious Al-Azhar University, a renowned institution for Sunni Muslims. Despite trying to keep focused on his work, the death of the university’s Grand Imam and murder of another student, drags Adam into a fight for power between the various student groups and institute’s leaders, fuelled by government interference. The young man unwittingly becomes a spy for agent Colonel Ibrahim (Fares Fares) and must navigate the moral dilemmas thrown at him and how he feels about his faith, in an effort to survive the crossfire.
