DIRECTOR: Lola Quivoron
WITH: Julie Ledru, Yannis Lafki, Antonia Buresi
Rodeo is an electric feature debut from newcomer Lola Quivoron, in this French dirt-rider drama. Lone wolf Julia (Julie Ledru) takes off from her hostile housing estate, and winds up in the midst of an all-male motocross ‘rodeo’ meet. The world of the misfit bikers is vibrant and volatile, with Quivoron focusing on the pressures of social inequality and Julia’s perseverance to prove herself in a masculine-dominated urban community. This is a feisty coming-of-age story that weaves in mystery and crime, led by a headstrong protagonist and plenty of fiery action-packed heists and stunts.
“Lola Quivoron’s full mileage motocross movie proves she is a director with potential to burn” Jonathan Romney, Screen Daily
