Israel’s leading documentarian Ran Tal (What If? Ehud Barak on War and Peace, UKJFF 2021) meets Israel’s most celebrated photo journalist, Micha Bar-Am, in this remarkable new film.

Based on hundreds of pictures selected from Bar-Am’s huge archive – managed by his wife, the artist Orna Bar-Am – the film tells the intertwining stories of the German-born photographer, now in his 90s, and the country whose image he has helped shape.

Revisiting some of his iconic photographs, Bar-Am and his family reflect on a life lived behind the lens of a camera, and the ever changing face of Israel.
