Detective David Mills (Brad Pitt), a naive rookie partnered with veteran Detective William Somerset (Morgan Freeman), is assigned to track down a sadistic serial killer who chooses his victims according to the seven deadly sins. As they trace the killer's every step, witnessing the aftermath of his crimes as the victims pile up in rapid succession, the pair move closer to a gruesome conclusion that neither of them could have predicted.
