London, 1969. Fed up with damp, cold, piles of washing-up, mad drug dealers and psychotic Irishmen, a pair of substance-abusing, perpetually out-of-work actors decide to leave their squalid Camden flat for an idyllic holiday in the countryside. But when Withnail (Richard E. Grant) and Marwood (Paul McGann) arrive in Cornwall, it doesn’t seem much better than London – and things are not helped by the arrival of Withnail’s Uncle Monty.
