"It's not often you see a guy that green have the blues that bad"

Welcome to Harbour Highlights, a series of cult and classic films handpicked by the staff of Harbour Lights.

For the summer month of July, Emily invites you on a sunshine-filled road trip to Hollywood with one of the most beloved group of characters ever created - The Muppets! Spun off from the successful TV series The Muppet Show, The Muppet Movie was the first big screen appearance of the gang, following them across the country as Kermit and Fozzie attempt to make it big in the movies, only to be pursued by a restaurateur obsessed with convincing Kermit to promote his frog legs franchise. A breezy family comedy, the film is witty, heartfelt and clever, with a smart streak of knowing meta comedy throughout. Featuring cameos from the likes of Steve Martin, Elliot Gould, Mel Brooks and Orson Welles as well as the familiar felt faces of Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Rowlf and many others, the film was a commercial and critical success upon its release in 1979 and led to seven further cinematic outings for The Muppets, including the iconic The Muppet Christmas Carol. Backed by an Academy Award-nominated musical score including songs such as 'Rainbow Connection', it's the perfect family film to revisit this summer holiday.

Showing on Wed 20 Jul at 20.30 with family-friendly matinee screenings on Mon 25 & Thu 28 Jul. Tickets only £8 / £5 Members and children.
