Following his adventures in 2020’s Sonic The Hedgehog, Ben Schwartz’s Sonic is settling into life in Green Hills. But he’s ready for more freedom, and his human companion Tom (James Marsden) reluctantly agrees to leave him at home while he jets off on vacation. It isn’t long before he’s back in trouble: Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) makes a dramatic return, this time with a new partner in the form of the red-quilled Knuckles (Idris Elba). The pair are on the hunt for an emerald that has the power to both build and destroy civilizations – so Sonic finds a sidekick of his own, Tails, and together they set off to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.
