Another stellar adaptation in his illustrious filmography, Alfred Hitchcock takes on Patricia Highsmith in this diabolically entertaining thriller.

Tennis star Guy Haines (Farley Granger) is enraged by his wife's refusal to finalise their divorce so he can wed senator's daughter Anne (Ruth Roman). 

Aboard a train, he strikes up a conversation with an equally troubled stranger, the smooth-talking socialite Bruno (Robert Walker), and unwittingly sets in motion a deadly chain of events.

Bruno has a theory on how a pair of strangers can get away with murder – a theory he plans to test out.
