Picturehouse Education are thrilled to offer schools the chance to book their own screenings of The Street. The film is available to book on as a private hire for £4 per student (or flat fee of £260 for groups smaller than 65 students).
Through interviews and observational documentary footage of the people who live and work on Hoxton Street in East London The Street builds a nuanced yet powerful image of current urban discontents. These screenings will be of particular value to geography classes as the film gives a compelling case study of an area undergoing dramatic demographic, socio- economic and cultural changes.
The film will also be of interest to photography and film students. It is beautifully shot documentary that manages to weave many stories into a cohesive and emotionally moving whole.
"A quietly enraging portrait of Hoxton lives on the brink."
