Holocaust Memorial Day: Surviving the Holocaust

In commemoration of Holocaust Memorial Day in January 2020, we are offering schools a wonderful and unique opportunity at the Crouch End Picturehouse on Tuesday 28th January 2020. The event features a screening of the award winning animated short film, 'Children of the Holocaust' followed by a talk and Q&A  with Holocaust survivor, Lady Zahava Kohn and her daughter Hephzibah Rudofsky.

As a child, Zahava was first sent to Westerbork transit camp in Holland and then sent to Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in Germany. This is a miraculous and life-affirming story and also focuses on life after the war. Zahava and her daughter, Hephzibah have been presenting this story to pupils in schools around the UK (and also in Germany) over the past ten years in a session called 'Surviving the Holocaust' and we are thrilled to welcome them to the Crouch End Picturehouse for this special schools event.
This is a unique opportunity for pupils to witness a first-hand account from the Holocaust, and also to see first-hand sources which accompany the narrative in the form of letters, photographs and documents from this period. An event not to be missed.
