Jazz re:freshed Film Club presents Black Orpheus, with DJ set from Tim Garcia (Jazz FM / Musica Macondo).

A cult of Latin-American cinema, Black Orpheus (Orfeu Negro) recreates the Greek tragedy of Orpheus and Eurydice amidst the vibrant backdrop of Rio De Janeiro’s urban landscape. Black Orpheus is perhaps best known for its iconic Bossa Nova soundtrack composed by Antonio Carlos Jobim and Luiz Bonfa, two greats of Brazil’s rich musical tradition.
