The Adventures Of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert

Director: Stephan Elliott
Starring: Terence Stamp, Hugo Weaving, Guy Pearce
Duration: 104 min

Strap on your stilettos, grab your most fabulous gown, and adjust that wig as the London Australian Film Society ring in Pride 2019 with a very special 25th anniversary screening of riotous outback drag spectacular, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, followed by an exclusive Q&A with the film's writer/director Stephan Elliott.

When a trio of drag artistes - Tick (Hugo Weaving), Adam (Guy Pearce), and Bernadette (Terence Stamp) - land a gig in the middle of Australia, they hit the road in an old bus named 'Priscilla'.

Driving across the desert from Sydney to Alice Springs, the trio provoke all manner of reactions from the locals they meet along the way, and discover a few new things about themselves, and each other.

Having previously screened his latest outrageous cinematic bain-marie Swinging Safari (2018), the London Australian Film Society is tickled pink to welcome the film's writer/director Stephan Elliott to Picturehouse Central for an exclusive Q&A after the film.
