Hurricane IMAX 3D

This is the true story of a 15,000-kilometre journey in the footsteps of one of the most devastating natural events on our planet: the Atlantic Hurricane. Our protagonist is both shatteringly destructive and vital to life on earth. A mere breeze at its conception, it becomes a life-giving monsoon as it sweeps over the African Sahel, before setting out across the Atlantic as a deepening depression. On its journey it encounters the film’s supporting cast – the men, women, plants and animals that it affects in some way, for better or for worse.

The tragic consequences of the Atlantic Hurricane are currently being felt in North America and the Caribbean. On Saturday 16 September, Picturehouse at Science and Media Museum is holding a fundraiser screening of Hurricane 3D, with all proceeds going to the Red Cross's Hurricane Irma Appeal Fund. Tickets for the fundraiser can be booked here. Additional donations to the fund can be made here.
