Robert Ford (Casey Affleck) has idolised Jesse James (Brad Pitt), legendary outlaw and leader of the infamous James Gang, since childhood. A brother to one of the gang’s members, Ford attempts to prove himself and join the slowly-reforming gang, but gradually becomes resentful of James – ultimately growing into the man responsible for his demise.
