Grave of the Fireflies

A devastating meditation on the human cost of war, Grave of the Fireflies follows Seita, a teenager charged with the care of his younger sister, Setsuko, after an American firebombing during World War II separates the two children from their parents.

After staying for a while with their resentful aunt, the pair travel across a war torn Japan, with Seita risking run ins with the police to feed his sister, who is suffering from malnutrition.
