Recently released from prison and on "a mission from God", Jake Blues (Jim Belushi), has a plan. Meet up with his blood brother Elwood (Dan Aykroyd), get their R&B band back together and raise the money needed to save the orphanage where they grew up. The universe has other plans.

Along the way they must fight off Neo-Nazis, a Country and Western band, and countless other wacky and unexpected characters in this comedic powerhouse of the 1980s, with two comedy stars at the height of their fame.
