This screening will be introduced by Monique, a founding member of BFF.
Movies That Made Us is a season curated by the team behind Black Femme Film, a collective who work to create safe, positive spaces for young black women to enjoy cinema.
Co-founder Nabilla on Mean Girls: "Lindsay Lohan has always been my favourite child star. As a cult classic, this film is full of one-liners, and has influenced pop culture for a whole group of people, who know not to make "Fetch" happen."
High school: it's a jungle out there, and new girl Cady (Lindsay Lohan) knows it. When her newfound friends encourage her to help them bring down The Plastics – the most popular girls in school – but it isn't long before she finds herself sucked into their orbit, becoming more of a mean girl than she realised.
This screening is in partnership with Dark Matter agency as part of their work with Picturehouse Cinemas to engage and develop Black audiences.
