In 1947, Jackie Robinson (Chadwick Boseman) is signed by the Brooklyn Dodgers, becoming the first African-American to play Major League Baseball in the modern era. Despite this historic achievement, Robinson faces an onslaught of racism in the process – 42 highlights the strength and skill Robinson had that brought him through turmoil and oppression to become one of the most famous baseball players of all time.
