For National Holocaust Day, in memory of the millions of Jews who lost their lives, Dame Helen Mirren tells the story of Anne Frank’s life with readings from her diary. The diary, which Anne kept for just over two years from her 13th birthday on 12 June 1942, was found and kept safe before the Gestapo saw it. It has been translated into 60 languages and sold more than 30 million copies. This emotive documentary is entwined with the stories of five Holocaust survivors (Arianna Szörenyi, Sarah Lichtsztejn-Montard, Helga Weiss and sisters Andra and Tatiana Bucci) plus insights from their relatives and historians of the period.
